B: One of my teachers once told us to never feel insecure if we have shortcomings compared to others. However, he added that if we are given any talents or resources and if we have done great things with them, we should never hold back from being proud of our work. He told the following story.

A farmer owned a beautiful land. He had grown fruit trees, flowers, and vegetables. No one had ever passed without stopping, so they can have one more sniff of the ripe clementine, or one more look at the dazzling roses.

“How beautiful!” said an impressed passer-by, “God is so good to you! Just look at this land he gave you!”

“God is very generous with me,” replied the farmer, looking up briefly from his work on the roses, “but you should have seen this land when God had it for himself.”
