An Open Letter

For my old members, new participants, and curious people on this page still sniffing around, this is a short letter for all of you :)
If an idea is new, then it won't be popular, at least when it is first introduced to people. I am not gonna lie about our club size. We are a new organization and we only have about 6 people that I consider as regular members of the org. The thing is, with an organization like us with a complete different focus than most groups on campus, it is going to take time before people see our value. Sameway as when a new product or brand is introduced into the market.
For my old members, I understand the discomfort of being a part of this process. Things are still uncertain. People come in and go. Meetings can be arranged and then canceled. It is very similar to the "rocking boat" analogy we often discussed last quarter. When we first step into the unfamiliar area, we will rock the boat. However, no matter how awkward and challenging it is now, IT DOES NOT MEAN WE DON'T HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED IN THE END.
For my new people, don't be afraid to come to meetings or events even if only a few people sign up on Facebook. Sometimes people don't announce on Facebook they are coming. And again, like I mentioned, The Courage to be Me is a brand new idea on campus. Don't be afraid to put out on a limb. Come and participate in our meetings because it resonate with YOU, not because hundreds of other people are doing it. The worst scenario is that you find that we suck, and you can pack up your bag, leave, and never see us again. I promise there won't be midnight calls begging you to take us back.
Thank you all for your help and interest. It is both strange and fulfilling seeing this vision I had for years unfolding bits by bits, and it won't happen without you being part of it, however short. And I know, that it's only going to be even better from here.
Best, Brook
